Vacuum freeze dryer, also known as sublimation drying, abbreviated as FD is a way of drying material that will be in the freezing state, at low temperature, in a vacuum sealed environment, that is, to heat the water in the frozen matter directly from a solid to a vapour and to be trapped by a water catcher. the whole system consists of six components, a drying chamber, a condenser(a water catcher), a heating system, a vacuum system, a refrigeration system and an electrical control system.
Principle
Vacuum freeze dryer is to freeze the dried goods below the temperature of three-phase point, and then sublimate the solid water (ice) in the goods directly into vapor under the vacuum condition, remove it from the articles, and make the goods dry. After the material is pretreated, it is frozen quickly, then sublimated and dehydrated, and then packed in the post-treatment workshop.Vacuum system establishes low pressure condition for sublimation drying bin,heating system provides sublimation latent heat for material, refrigeration system provides cooling capacity for water catcher and drying bin. The quality requirements of freeze-dried products: unchanged biological activity, uniform appearance, full shape, firm structure,Good rehydration and low residual moisture. In order to obtain high quality products, we should have a comprehensive understanding of the theory and technology of freeze-drying. The freeze-drying process consists of three steps: pre-freezing,sublimation and re-freeze-drying(analytical drying). Reasonable and effective shortening of freeze-drying cycle has obvious economic value in industrial production.
